Province of Pichincha. Historic, Emblematic and Tourist. -

Pichincha is one of the most important provinces, non single to lodge to Quito, capital of the country, also because it has many others tourist places that it has located around its nine towns, it is in the middle of located equatorial region of the hight Andes, next to the Western Mountain range. It has a surface of 12,914 Km². At the present time it has 2'388.817 inhabitants. It limits the north, with the provinces of Imbabura and Esmeraldas, to the south, with Cotopaxi and Los Rìos, to the east, with Sucumbios and Napo, and to the west, with Esmeraldas and Manabí. Its spring weather oscillates between 12 and 24 degrees and has many sites of interest in addition to its historic capital, like protected natural territories (forests, snow-covered, volcanos), archaeological sites and artisan towns.

Quito, capital of the province and the country, counts on the presence of the main hotel chains of the world, is the ideal site for the accomplishment of conventions or national and international events, also had to its strategic location. Its airport Mariscal Sucre is one of the international terminals that exist in Ecuador. Mitad del Mundo. Equinoccial Line. -

Ecological Reserve Cayambe-Coca

This reserve, of more than 400 thousand hectaries, is located in the provinces of Pichincha, Imbabura and Sucumbíos. One of the more important tourist points is the snow-covered Cayambe, mainly for the andinistas that can ascend by their perpetual snows until the summit. This protected site account also with forests and lagoons, like the Lagoon of San Marcos, surrounded by water cataracts that form the river Oyacachi, a magic place where in its borders we found stone ruins of ancestral towns and also thermal waters seen to those of Papallacta, another spring located at the beginning of the Reserve very visited by national and foreign tourists.

Bosque Protector Mindo-Nambillo. A unique natural refuge. -

In Los Bancos town, we found great sectors with enormous attractive tourist, approximately two hours to the northwest of Quito, is the more important natural reserve of birds of the country.
