Manta. Tourist and international port by excellence. -

Manta, main seaport, tourist and fishing of the country is located to the southwest of Manabí, seated in a wonderful Bay that has given to the fame of the International Port in the Ocean Pacific. With a dry subtropical climate and an important hotel infrastructure, it is the city with greatest projection and development in Manabí. During the last 12 years Manta has become in one of the forced tourist destinies of the international cruises that they cross from the Caribbean to the Pacific of Latin America. Portoviejo. Beauty Capital.-

Portoviejo, capital of the province with the most beautiful women of the Country, also, political and cultural manifestations center. This main town is located to few minutes of the city of Manta and is also known it like the city of Los Reales Tamarindos, because there was a time at which the leafiest trees of this fruit stood and grew. Was founded initially by the captain Francisco Pacheco, member of the army of Diego de Almagro, the 12 of March of 1535. Pacheco was in the region little less than two years. In the successive thing there were several incursions of pirates and fires took place that caused that the city moved from a place to another one. During the time of the colony it was operations center of the conquerors and later fredom movements center, managing to proclaim its independence the 18 of October of 1820.
